Review of The Shallows (2016) by Michael H — 14 Aug 2016
It's incredible to think how few films there have been with Sharks as the big bad guy. Possibly because Spielberg made the ultimate one and no one bothered since. The Shallows has plenty of nods to Jaws through its 90 odd minutes but does not mimic the legendary film.
Fabulously tense, it uses incredible camera work to have you on the edge of your seat and literally not having a clue how or when it will end. It's a little silly in places and they won't be winning any awards for the dialogue but it's great fun all in all.
