Review of The Shallows (2016) by Howard B — 19 Oct 2017
What looks like a trashy teen horror movie turns in a better hand than expected. The script is awful and the CGI pretty awkward, but there isn't much of either of these actually used in the final product.
What we have instead is a film that spends most of it's time as a quiet survival piece focused more on fear and isolation. It's by no means perfect, but it's a good job and worth watching.
