Review of The Seven Year Itch (1955) by Paul Z — 06 Aug 2008
I have very big expectations from every Billy Wilder film I see and this one is the only one that has yet to let me down... its strange that the most iconic photo of all time is derived from this movie but is not shown as such in it.
.. Marilyn was as charming as ever... but where did they find Tom Ewell? Wasn't that the guy from To Kill A Mockingbird? Where was Jack Lemmon... he would have been perfect, but then it would have kind of been The Apartment.
.. Wilder originally wanted Walter Mathau (who would have been excellent) I would have even given Glen Ford a chance at this one... but Tom Ewell just didn't do it.
