Review of The Seven Year Itch (1955) by Amjad A — 13 Jul 2013
4.2/5.... Amazing entertainment. It is Lush and Lavish, Superbly constructed, brilliantly humorous, amazingly acted, The Seven Year Itch is almost a pitch perfect comedy, and the seductive and sultry Monroe plays her role perfectly. The central story focuses on a man who begins to encounter sexual thoughts about a woman who happens to be his new neighbour, and the reason for this is because he is suffering from an un-determined psychological disease known as, The Seven Year Itch.
From there, the film engages in parodied twists and turns. Even though the film deals with serious issues, such as adultery, lust and impurity, it still maintains its tongue in cheek humour and never takes itself seriously. It's a joy-ride from beginning to end. Billy Wilders second greatest film behind, Some Like it Hot. HIGLY RECOMMENDED.
