Review of The Sessions (2012) by Luigi D — 27 Apr 2013
In spite of its explicit exploration of sex as the central topic, this film can easily be described as tender and warm due to the great dose of humanity involved in the proceedings. While John Hawkes' performance in the demanding leading role is flawless and touching, Helen Hunt is without question the emotional core of the movie, displaying all her powers as an actress in a landmark role that requires her to reveal through gestures and nuances several layers of a multifaceted woman.
