Review of The Sentinel (2006) by Gareth N — 12 Nov 2010
Michael Douglas plays Michael Douglas and keifer Sutherland plays jack Bauer in this run of the mill thriller about a secret service agent framed for trying to kill the President. Having said that it is enjoyable fayre for an hour and 40 mins.
The bad guy is obvious from the start, there's no real who dunnit but if you like this sort of thing then it's a good film. There is a female agent but I have no idea why they cast her. It wasn't for the sex, and she didn't input much to the film as a character.
It must just have been for the pc feminist lobby but then again they would be off watching a Jane Austin story, not this boys film. And who cast Kim basinger as the first lady? A tramp if ever I saw one! But I still say it's worth a watch by anyone who likes the suspense thriller genre.
