Review of The Sentinel (1977) by Tiia K — 21 Nov 2007
Good production values and a single effectively scary scene midway through can't save this religious horror effort from a lazy build-up, an uninspired musical score, and an overly talky deus ex machina finale. The most interesting aspect of this film is probably the use of real-life human oddities as devils. The move was daring in its day, and possibly even more unthinkable in these politically correct times.
Celebrity hall of shame: Beverly D'Angelo makes her big screen debut as a mute, masturbating Lesbian.
