Review of The Selfish Giant (2013) by Jason M — 22 Jan 2014
The first film I've watched as a volunteer at Art House; it is a saddening fable. Almost feels like a foreign film at times because of the English dialect. In place of a musical score is a melody of lower class-British slang that feels just as suitable.
Drawing on Oscar Wilde's short story of the same name gives it a poetic feeling, while maintaining the rawness of its modern story.
