Review of The Selfish Giant (2013) by Matthew F. J — 25 Jul 2014
A film right in the tradition of Ken Loach. Depicting the struggling British working class poor people of the suburbs. This film benefits from a well written script, amazing young actors and a great lady behind the camera who made some good narrative choices and knew from that start what tone and what direction she wanted to give to her film.
Clio Barnard is someone to watch out for because I'm pretty sure she's going to be a very interesting story teller in the future, if she keeps her integrity.
