Review of The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising (2007) by Scott C — 03 Aug 2009
Ok, so it had some cool special effects, but they should've stuck closer to the book. Some of the changes were pointless. Including the fact that the Stantons were American, and that Will was 14 and had a crush.
The character development was lacking as well, unfortunately. In the book Merriman is one of my favourite characters, but he hardly seemed likable at all in the film. The Rider was done all right, probably the best of anyone, but overall this movie isn't really worth watching.
Read the books. They are far better.
