Studio Ghibli is best known for dazzling flights of animation like "Spirited Away," "Mononoke" and "Ponyo." Disney has put its muscle behind this latest, an adaptation of "The Borrowers," about tiny people who live among us.
Unfortunately, this is the studio's most earthbound release. The story is told in its simple, quiet style, but lacks the magical wonder and visual imagination of the earlier films. Don't expect a fast-paced, gag-filled, crazy-character American product.
This picture's quality lies it its visual appeal and gentle charm.
