Rather dark cartoon that adapts Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIHM. The story adds a mystic (and unnecessary) element that seems like a deus ex machina problem solver. The art is pretty strong and it was the most expensive non-Disney animated movie when it was made (also caused a rift with many Disney animators who left Disney for it when Disney also felt it was too dark).
Another big change was Frisby became Brisby because of copyright questions with Frisbee.
