Review of The Secret of Moonacre (2009) by Felix L — 27 May 2009
Many family oriented movies these days feature children that are cheeky little bastards who don't do what they're told but it's ok because the people in charge are all doddering old idiots and all children have some magical ability that no one else has.
The problem I see with this is that they have much loftier goals to fall from when life beats them down. I mean by the time I was 25 I admit I was displeased that I didn't have a talking car, a furry alien buddy or was a ninja.
.but I was ok with that. Imagine how hard little Timmy will hit the crack pipe when he finds out not only does HE not have magical powers but that magic doesn't even exist and some english twat somewhere made that shit up to wrench what little inheritance his poor tired parents had for him in the form of licensed memorabilia and expensive little tricks to keep the "magic" alive.
