Review of The Secret of Kells (2009) by Andrew W — 17 Oct 2010
The story and characters are simple-yet-likable, but what makes this movie a real winner is the gorgeous animation! The stylized designs are truly breathtaking. While I believe 3D, computer generated cartoons have their place (and indeed enjoy many of them), I have a special passion for traditional, 2D animation.
This movie serves as a brilliant reminder that even the (seemingly) simplest of appearances can evoke great emotion.
