Review of The Secret of Kells (2009) by Dasen P — 24 Feb 2011
I'm enjoying this movie because I love old books, especially ones that have beautiful illuminations. One of the high points when I visited Dublin was to see the Book of Kells. Like that book, this movie is visually beautiful and highly stylized -- though in a more modern way than in the classic sense one would expect in a movie about an ancient tome.
My favorite part was the intricate design-work in the abbot's chambers and in the forests.
