Review of The Secret of Kells (2009) by Lukas Z — 22 Feb 2012
As illuminating as the book it's based on is, The Secret of Kells is an amazing experience with its great hand drawn animation. Albeit it short for a full release, the animation is what you should see this film for as its story isn't any great shakes and not much is told about the book it really is based on.
Still, the characters are good and I must point out how much I enjoyed seeing how the Vikings were depicted, as big grunting brutes shouting one word commands. if you are a fan of hand-drawn animation, this is a must see.
