I want to like this film, but there is something wrong with this adaptation of 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty'.

I can't quite put my finger to it...was it the minefield of hit-and-miss humour? Was it my dislike of Danny Kaye's performance as the quirky, but overly pathetic titular character? Was it the repetitive dream sequences that held little value to watch over and over again? I can arrive at the same lame conclusion as the film does in that the "something wrong" is a combination of all the above.

It's a shame too because this film does boast nice technicolor visuals for 1947 and the rest of the cast is great.

Having not read the short story myself, I'm sure its plot was more thought provoking and intriguing as a maze of words instead of as a maze of visuals.
