I know how to kill a man and leave no trace.

Walter Mitty is a comic book writer with a wild imagination. Walter can often be found day dreaming which causes him to be forgetful and irresponsible. However, when a real life adventure drops in his lap, no one believes him when he cries for help. Can Walter be the real life hero or will the damsel in distress save Walter from a life of monotony?

"No one could look as much like you do as you do.".

Norman McLeod, director of Along Came Youth, Monkey Business, The Miracle Man, The Milky Way, Little Men, Pennies from Heaven, and Jackass Mail, delivers The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. The storyline for this picture is okay but the delivery was frustrating at times as the film included musical numbers, random day dreams, and a few over delivered sequences. The acting was okay and the cast includes Boris Karloff, Virginia Mayo, and Danny Kaye.

"Captain Mitty, you're hurt.".

"It's nothing, just a broken arm.".

I originally found this film while querying for Boris Karloff pictures. This film was not as I expected as Karloff played a minor role and the film's substance was lacking. Virginia Mayo was outstanding in her role and McLeod used Karloff well in his limited capacity. Overall, this movie is worth watching but is not worth adding to your DVD collection.

"You were day dreaming again.".

Grade: C+.
