Review of The Secret Life of Pets (2016) by Jess_Hill — 22 Sep 2016
There are some fun moments here, and having a pet is probably an essential criteria for really enjoying this film; overall it's not as good as I was hoping, but better than I was expecting. The storyline plays out in a strange series of loosely connected moments, some of which were hilarious, and others which were confuse and unnecessary.
The character design was excellent, and there were some nicely constructed action sequences. I'm not sure what age it's targeted at, I'd suggest from eight and up might enjoy it, though some themes might be problematic.
In general, it's a fun film that's ok. 6.
