The Secret Life of Pets offers more fun and laughs than I anticipated, but overall is a film that could've and should've been better. There are funny moments to be had here, for sure, and kids should enjoy this one.
The characters are all pretty good and kind of interesting, and the idea behind the film is fun. But the plot is so forgettable that I have trouble remembering what exactly all happened in the film, and I fear I may forget it in a week.
Kevin Hart screamed through his lines, which worked about half the time, but other moments was just annoying. Still, if you want some mindless laughs or something to keep kids entertained by for a little bit, Secret Life of Pets is your film, although Toy Story is definitely a better route.
