Don't ever listen to what the bad critics say, loving them as myself. The Secret Life of Pets may be a Toy Story rip-off for some, but it is a truly enjoyable animated picture that children and adults will love alike.
The animation is impressive and the characters look very enjoyable and adorable. It is a modern animated classic that Illumination actually got right. Hopefully the sequel will do much better than this.
