Review of The Secret Life of Pets (2016) by Diane C — 17 Aug 2016
"Pets" successfully brings in a great voice cast, mainly by just pulling in those who already achieved live-action work, in order to voice the adorably-designed titular characters. Although it doesn't mean much since their main job was to just scream, cry, laugh, grumble, bark, meow or tweet instead of using proper dialogue to tell a movie that is only made up of infantile-minded scenes of crashing cars, chasing, jumping, falling down, screaming and goofing around rather than making a film based on irony or melodrama.
Is Illumination Entertainment's movies getting overrated and over-advertised on buses, benches and billboards if the best they can come up with is just a 1-hour Looney Tunes imitation?
