Review of The Secret Life of Bees (2008) by Natalie O — 22 Feb 2010

This time I did read the book. The book is so poetic and so beautiful. I think the film tried really hard to be the same but something was lacking. It felt too much like a play. Dakota Fanning is very very irritating so without Queen Latifa I would have really disliked this film.

Although Alicia Keys played a good June. One thing I really did not like was the soundtrack. Modern music in a 1964 film, was a bit disorientating.
