Review of The Second Mother (2015) by Matthew F. J — 28 Dec 2016
This is an amazing little film coming from Brazil. The story is pretty simple but surely it depicts with accuracie the type of life some family live in the country and how the domestic of the house often ends up taking more care of their employer's children rather than their own.
It also shows the inequalities of classes amongst the Brazilian society ad the need the break out of these old archetypes. This is a wonderful film, if you wish to learn more about the codes, the customs and the habits of Brazil.
Plus it's the opportunity to watch Regina Case do a magnificent showcase throughout the film. Definitely one of the best films of the year.
