Review of The Searchers (1956) by Augusto A — 09 Dec 2008

I'm not a big fan of american westerns, but this is a good one. The excess of comic relief moments at inappropriate times and extremely annoying side characters really bog it down, but the psychology of the main character, the smart use of recurrent camera angles directly linked to the themes and other powerful moments more than make up for it.

Certainly not a bad movie, but a little overrated in my opinion.
