Review of The Searchers (1956) by Serge S — 15 Feb 2009
A few things I can set set aside The Searchers moved me on the first viewing and repeated viewings keep peeling away more and more layers. John Wayne is nearly perfect as if he was the only man alive who could play Ethan Edwards, the story that takes place in the sweeping desert is still moving and haunting, not all the time but when the ending comes you can forget any issues you may have had.
A milestone in cinema and a classic that will always be preserved.
