Best western I've seen, with John Ford's direction at its best. If you're a John Wayne fan, be prepared for the darkest, best performance of his career. Young Jeffrey Hunter and Natalie Wood, who both died young, are terrific.
And what's a John Wayne/John Ford movie without Ward Bond?
