Review of The Searchers (1956) by Niels S — 29 Jun 2009
Though Ford's storytelling may seem uneven and oldfashioned to a modern audience, The Searchers is still a cinematic masterpiece depicting a racist searching for his niece kidnapped by Comanches, not to rescue her, but to kill her because she has become "one of them".
Beautifully shot in Monument Valley and other picturesque locations.
