Gloriously filmed and unusually subtle Western about John Wayne's quest to "save" his niece from an Indian tribe. Thing is, does she really want to be rescued? Wayne gives frightening performance (rarely he plays the villain) in what's regarded by many as the greatest Western ever made. Final shot is a wow! Arguably director John Ford's best film ever.
