Review of The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973) by Matt M — 17 Dec 2013
Third of the Christopher Lee Dracula incarnations, probably the least remarkable. Here, in its modern settting, Dracula is the leader of a satanic cult that includes scientists and tries to create a virus that will plague the human race.
Terribly dull and banal, despite its over complicated premise, this film simply forgets to get scary or frightening. Christopher Lee still embodies the notorious vampirical lord iconically, but the Satanic Rites of Dracula is sub-standard in every possible way to say the least.
