Review of The Sasquatch Gang (2006) by Sean C — 31 May 2009
The Sasquatch Gang is the story of a nerdy group of friends that stumble upon what they believe to be Bigfoot tracks and droppings, in the woods.
I do love watching these B rate low budget comedies. When I saw this had Justin Long in it, I had to check it out. I am a fan of his, even if it's just a Mac commercial.
The Sasquatch Gang is kind of Napoleon Dynamite (Only not nearly as funny) meets some lame role playing game meets late 80s/early 90s trailer park. The story was predicable and the acting was terrible for the most part. It did have one or two chuckle moments, but nothing to get excited about.
This movie gets two stars for Justin Long and Joey Kern. Justin Long carried this movie, as Zerk. His comic timing was impeccable. He must have watched the You Tube videos of Reggie Warren Jr. to prepare for this role. He was a riot, rocking the Trans Am, the mullet, and the corn dogs. Joey Kern was great as his bumbling idiot side kick, Shirts.
The Sasquatch Gang is only worth checking out to see the way Justin long makes being a blockhead look effortless.
