[font=Courier New]There are some movies that do deserve a sequel. Those are usually the huge hit films that a sequel is almost implied when you watch the movie. Then there are movies that don?t deserve a sequel. Those are typically films that were so bad, you wouldn?t want to sit through anymore dealing with those characters.

Then there is that oh-so-often sequels we get these days, the ?Do we really need this? Sequel.? Disney is really notorious for doing this. Almost all of their original animated classics now have a horrendous follow-up, or there is one planned or in the works for them.

[i]The Sandlot 2[/i] is a sequel that I will never understand. I may get some flack for saying this, but I consider [i]The Sandlot[/i] to be the best movie about baseball ever made. From when I watched it in my youth, I have always had a fond spot for it in my heart.

This sequel will never be that important to me. All this film does is take the best elements of the original, and try to improve on them. I saw this earlier this year when I say [i]Be Cool[/i]. Just because you take something that worked before, and revamp it for today?s audiences, doesn?t mean you?ve stuck gold.

When I was younger, a sequel was a big deal. I loved [i]Batman[/i], and nearly exploded when I heard about [i]Batman Returns[/i]. These things use to mean something to me, and now all they do is anger me. I thought remaking was the worse, but poorly thought sequels are now the worst thing going for the movie business.

I will admit that I liked some of the kids in this movie, and thought they did a fairly decent job with the below average script. And having James Earl Jones return was the strongest point for me not to give this movie a lower review. My suggestion to anyone who wants to see this, skip it and see the original. [/font].
