Review of The Sandlot (1993) by Jerem M — 03 Oct 2013
I don't know why this film is so revered. It's supposed to be one of the all-time classic baseball movies. In fact, only the first half has anything to do with the game (and it's mostly a coming of age tale at that).
The rest of the movie is spent trying to retrieve a ball from the neighbor's backyard (!?), culminating in a chase sequence between a boy and the neighbor's rabid dog. Uneven and not that funny.
