Review of The Salvation (2014) by Vlado N — 17 Apr 2015
The Salvation can be a really uneven film experience, there's too much dodgy and totally fucking pointless cgi and it really contradicts the gritty, down and dirty feel of the film, and the pace of the story is meandering to the point of occasional boredom, but for those missing the Sergio Leone style westerns of old, with the rough heroes, jangling spurs, harsh violence and epic, wide screen landscapes of the old American west, this is a small treat.
Sporadic but solid. Also Mads Mikkelsen is a badass!
