Review of The Saddest Music in the World (2003) by Karleen O — 24 Feb 2007
Maddin's most accessible work to date. A very funny, very twisted version of Ishiguro's original story about American razzle-dazzle and national identities with Maddin's usual amputations, love triangle, and amnesia thrown in.
How can you resist a tagline like, "If you're sad and like beer, I'm your lady"?
