Review of The Sacrifice (1986) by Benjamin V — 09 Feb 2008
Poetry. One part Goethe a-la Faust; One part Nietzsche; One part Dostoyevsky; one part Bergman. Mix together in the world existential alienation in the manner of bleak, post-modern philosophy, and get a brilliant movie that, if you see, you can look down your nose at people who think 'Pirates of the Caribbean' makes good cinema.
Tarkovsky is a poet.
