Review of The Sacrifice (1986) by Jacob K — 27 Jan 2009
The acting is impeccable, the cinematography is fantastic, the apocalpytic tension is well created. Yes, it is as close to a perfectly made movie as can be. The ending was interesting but fit in well with the overall theme of the movie (and normally I'm not a fan of ambiguous endings).
But I can't get over the fact that the movie is kind of full of itself and takes way too long to make it's point. I know, I know, typical American viewer. But I really think you could cut 45 minutes out of the movie and not miss much of anything.
