It's a somewhat familiar film in terms of execution and even content, but if you hated Red State and wanted that movie to be good, watch this. The Sacrament doesn't offer any crazy twists but the first hour is slow burning setup with a last half hour that just commits and sticks the landing.
I'm glad they didn't try to throw in some last minute twist, it would have ruined the flow.
