Well-crafted, The Sacrament ends up being somewhat disappointing because director Ti West chooses to proceed in directions that are all too predictable and tame. A talented director, Ti West could have done much more with the subject matter instead of having it progress towards a thoroughly limp finale that anyone could have foreseen.
