Review of The Sacrament (2014) by Nicholas W — 17 Jul 2014

Another absorbing thriller/horror from Ti West, this time using the events of the tragic Jonestown Massacre as inspiration (well, it follows those events so closely it might as well be a documentary). At first it's a terrific slow-burner and if you know about Jonestown, a truly horrific finale.

All the performances are great and believable especially Gene Jones as the 'father' who leads the cult known as 'Eden Parish'. It also makes excellent use of the hand-held format.
