Seems too cute for some now, but I like the local color because maybe I am from Massachusetts. Gloucester Island is a thinly disguised Nantucket. When Nathaniel Benchley wrote the book, he was referring to people who live on the mainland, the "off-islanders.
" It was much a story about Nantucket as well as a cold war comedy team. "Hmmmmmmm, Ko-ka ko-la".
