As one of the last cold war thrillers to actually be made during that era its a fitting finale, pointing out the nonsense of the whole affair and placing individual people and relationships in higher importance than patriotism (I'd expect nothing less from a John le Carre' adaptation).
Connery and Pfeiffer are fantastic.
