Review of The Runaways (2010) by Carlos Z — 02 Feb 2011
A decent flick in it's own right. The story of Joan Jett and The Runaways in the mid 70's based on the memoirs of Cherie Currie, lead singer.
A well done period piece from the mid to late 70's, very accurate in wardrobe, hairstyles and sets. The music is raw, ushering in the era of punk. These girls are under rated in the history of American Rock and the rub is...they were so damn young to be so prolific. Back in that time, I was into other stuff but, today I certainly can appreciate the music and Lita Ford's timeless solos.
I enjoyed the film.
