This film centers around the all-girl rock group The Runaways, giving extra attention to rhythm guitarist Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) and lead singer Cherie Currie's (Dakota Fanning) relationship and demise from the rock-and-roll lifestyle of drugs and alcohol.

Stewart and Fanning play their roles respectively, but for some reason, I can't take Fanning's persona seriously. I mean, her adolescence shines too brightly here, even when her role calls for her to be more mature.

She doesn't have that bad girl image like Stewart possesses. She's also given too much screen-time, something that should have been cut down. The Runaways reminds me of Oliver Stone's The Doors, but with females.

Like another reviewer stated, unless you're into the band, this film will fly right over your head. However, you can't shoot down the music these five girls put forth in the seventies and The Runaways gives us that in the most raunchy and sexy way.
