Meh. Have always been a fan of Hunter S. Thompson, and I usually like Depp when he's doing something other than a Tim Burton movie. But in this one, the characters are one-dimensional and completely ineffectual, and the storyline simply meanders and sputters along.
Quite disappointing, actually.
