Review of The Rules of Attraction (2002) by Amy H — 30 May 2008
Very underrated, a darkly funny look at the lives of some screwed up college kids. Van Der Beek completely burries his Dawson persona as Sean Bateman, a drug dealing prick of the highest order. Not very faithful to the book, but Avary's unique style ( Victor's European trip being a standout) and a commited cast make this a grimmly funny look at Generation X.
