Review of The Ruins (2008) by Ed Fucking H — 22 Dec 2010
Like what you'd get if you mised the Hostel movies with the Decent. Retarded American boys, and drunk slut American girls are vacationing in Mexico, when they decide to go to an ill advised ancient Mayan ruin.
Little do they know that the ruins are already occupied by *gasp* MAN EATING PLANTS. Overtly predicatable premise aside, none of the characters are likeable enough for the audience to give a damn about what happens to them.
I actually found myself rooting for the Mayans at the bottom of the pyramid who were killing anyone trying to escape. The plants themselves weren;t exciting enough to get much enjoyment out of either.
All in all to preditable and contrived to be even remotely intresting or exciting. Avoid.
