Review of The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) by Christopher S — 12 Feb 2012
This was pure writing genius by Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson. While I am not a huge fan of Wilson the actor, Wilson the writer is definitely good, especially when he teams up with Anderson. The acting overall in the film was excellent, probably the best ensemble cast of the 2001 films.
Gwyneth Paltrow was especially good as the moody and quiet Margot but it was Gene Hackman as Royal that stole every scene. His transformation from selfish rich man to a caring grandfather was amazing.
One of the best films from 2001.
