Review of The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) by Jack B — 17 Jun 2013
Wes Anderson delivers another masterpiece in this touching, yet humorous film. This is my favorite Wes Anderson film, and possibly my favorite movie ever. The movie (like other Anderson movies) has subtle humor but does have some over the top funny parts that will make you laugh.
There is good acting all around especially Gene Hackman as Royal, and I enjoyed Bill Murray's character even though his part is a bit smaller compared to others. The movie has a great story and great narration by Alec Baldwin.
The movie tells about how Royal Tenenbaum fakes dying to reunite with his wife and three prodigal children. Each character has a different and unique personality and story, so the movie never gets boring.
With a terrific cast and a wonderfully written story I highly recommend this movie.
