Wes Anderson's unique aesthetic is on full displaying this wonderfully quirky film about a dysfunctional family of geniuses. The film's breathtakingly retro color palate and correspondingly colorful cast of characters takes the viewer to an alternate universe, but one that's odd enough to almost be real life.
The offbeat dialogue and minimalistic style render a wonderfully believable story of redemption and of the prodigal son.
